All the current crop information and the dates for 2010 crop schedule is finally up. It seems to take forever to create the schedule and then to update the website. There are so many details that cross each other that have to be checked. I will be working on the cruise details and the retreats next. We hope to add more crops to the schedule as we can. If you would like a Penguin Crop in your area let us know and we will work on it.

If you have been to one of our crops please post to this blog or website and let us know your favorite thing about the crops. We are so excited about the new year and I cannot wait till the first crop when I can see everyone!!

Stay warm here in the South and think about the Flip Flop Crop!!!

New Year ....2010

Happy New Year to everyone.....2009 was a challenge but now we are on to a fresh new 2010.
I wish for all of us a healthy year filled with love and time with your family and friends. I am looking forward to seeing everyone "several times" this year at Penguin Events! I miss everyone between our last crop in November to our next crop in February.

As usual I have made my New Year's resolutions and I plan to stick to them.... I have high hopes for 2010!!

I have never been a good blogger as you can see with the last year's blogs but I have it on my list of resolutions to do a better job of keeping Penguin scrappers and friends more aware of what is going on with the scrapbook events, Penguin scrap road trips, and what happens at our events.
(I do promise to protect the innocent....or at least I will try.)

We had such a great time last year at the crops. It seems the more crops we do the more "comfortable" our croppers get and the more fun we all have!! There are a few things I will keep to myself and you will just have to come to see all the fun we have. I love that you can get a few woman together and things just get crazy!!

I will have to say our PJ Crop was such a good time...just seeing everyone and how creative they got with their PJ's. I would have loved to see everyone when they were coming to the crop and they stopped to pickup a coffee or when they went to lunch....the stares that they got must have been hysterical. Some of the croppers actually went shopping at Micheal's and Hobby Lobby in their PJ's!!

The Flip Flop Crop is always our favorite because of the participation with tropical clothes and the creative Flip Flops that the scrappers have come up with.

Our Crop Fiesta was HOT HOT HOT and loved the Chili Peppers that came to the crop!!

This year is going to be over the top....we are adding several things this year....road trip to industry trade shows, retreats, and a themed crop cruise.....and as always more crops!!

The goal this year is to add to our cropper family. The more croppers we have the more we can do at all the events. More prizes, more options for classes and make and take its...More vendors which means more freebies and so on!!! So please spread the word to everyone you know and even people you don't. Tell them about the great time you have at Penguin Scrap Events and pass on the website information. If any new people tell us that you referred them you can earn a free crop!! Details will be on the website!

Our website will be updated this week (By Jan 9) with all the information for this years schedule of events. Join the website as a member and receive an email when something new is added to the website so you can stay updated on all that is happening. You do not want to miss out on anything this year!!

This will be the first of many blogs so please join me and post memories of past crops or hope for future crops. My goal is to always keep the crops about the cropper and what they need!! I can only do that with your help so please let us know what you want to see at our events and we will do our very best to make it happen!!

Take care and I hope to see or hear from you soon!!!

Scrapbook Expo in Duluth GA

I went to the Scrapbook Expo yesterday in Duluth GA. with my friend Kim. Many of you know Kim from the crops she is the person who checks everyone in and because we are BFF she pretty much does everything else too. We met Diane there too my other right hand person at the crops!! The expo was very busy for a Friday usually Saturday is the busiest day but there were lots of scrappers all busy with make and take its and purchasing some fun supplies.

With the economy and the fact it is taking a big bite out of all of our scrap budgets I was surprised to see all the scrappers in the checkout lines. I am sure everyone is like me and save to go these events to purchase those special nuggets of creativity. I have been known to spend without thinking which is why my scrap room looks like a store but this year I am having to put a handle on my scrap addiction and try to be a bit more selective to stay in my budget.

Some of the vendors did have specials and I did see more $1 packs of embellishments and smaller packages to accommodate smaller budgets. As far a new things there were not many new items on the market and I didn't see to many items that I didn't already have in my collection. Mostly the new items were page kits and things like glitter mist and adhesive applicators and some cute storage totes.

I didn't take any classes this time or go to the crops so if anyone can post about those things please do. We would love to hear about that.

We are adding some of the ideas we saw at the show for the make and take opportunities at the crop in August. Be sure to register by the 15th of July to save $5 off the Fiesta Crop.

Well that is all for now please comment if you went to the expo and let us know what you liked or share some of the classes or fun make and take projects.

Happy Scrapping !! Brenda

Registration Begins For Crop Fiesta

It is time to register for Crop Fiesta August 22, 2009!!

Visit the new website for Penguin Scrapbook Events at http://penguinscrapbookevent.shutterfly.com

I have included pictures and news of previous crops and information about upcoming crops too. This will be a great place for Penguin Croppers to visit to join in on the latest topics on the message board, find out about the latest Penguin Road Trips, and even current coupons and sales for scrapbook supplies on line and in the stores that we all love to shop. Be sure to tell merchandisers where you found out about them so that they will support our crops which means more goodies for you!!!

I will add more each week so sign up as a member to receive updated messages and also sign up for a digest of what has happened each week along with email notifications of current additions.

I will still use email for a few months to send notices but will eventually only be using this website for information about the crops. Registered croppers will receive direct emails about the crop they have registered for and any information pertaining to that crop. I just will stop sending general emails out about future crop sign ups and information. I never want to bother anyone who may not be interested in our event information and feel that this website will be a way for only those interested in the scrap events to find out what is going on.

As always I want any comments or suggestions from all of our cropper friends. Our events are for you and I want to do what the majority wants to see at our events. So be sure to email or post messages and I will address each suggestion and implement as many ideas as we can that will benefit all our croppers and make your Penguin Scrapbook Event the best it can be!!

Happy Scrapping and hope to see all of you soon!! Brenda
